The Detailed Spiral Builder actually simulates winding of the cell and so gives a very realistic estimate of the jellyroll volume. Detailed tab orientations and electrode overlaps can be specified for an accurate calculation of cell active area.

The winder simulation generates a detailed cross section of the jellyroll. The build could be cyclindrical, prismatic or pallel plate configuration. The jellyroolviewer tool can be used to zoom in/out of the detailed cross-section.
