The basic configuration of Battery Design Studio provides the capability to design simple parallel plate cells and simulate performance for the lithium and lithium-ion chemistry under normal use conditions. Extra modules are available for other chemistries that allow for design of spirally-wound, both cylindrical and prismatic, cells, design of stacked-plate cells, design of packs, automatic optimization about user-defined objectives, and simulation models for abuse testing.
